About this page

As a new parent, I found there were lots of tips for how to DIY an activity at home, and not much in the way of ‘how can I spend a couple hundred bucks a month to have fun and enriching stuff to do with my kid’.

Learning about early childhood education turned into an enjoyable hobby, and I started sharing some of our (mis)adventures in parenting with friends. I’m asked a few times a month what we’re doing to supplement our kids’ education at home, or if I can share my ‘baby guide’, so I wanted to have a handy link to send. As of Apr 25, 2024, I’m typing out the first words on this page, and will try to add more periodically.

This is a free resource and I make no income from it. Enjoy!

About me

I’m Sue Khim, co-founder and CEO of brilliant.org, a digital education company with a mission to make a world of great problem solvers. We teach quantitative and technical problem solving skills through our website and apps, designed for ages 13+. I co-founded the business with my husband, who runs product at Brilliant.

We have 2 kids, ages 3 and 1. My 3 year old was a precocious talker and early reader who loves books. My 1 year old is currently engrossed in figuring out how mechanical things work. I’ve been fascinated by experimenting with how to challenge them in a fun and effective way in short bursts every day, and hope that sharing what we do at home is helpful to others.

I’ll also periodically post resources recommended by my colleagues at Brilliant, many of whom are master teachers (especially of gifted students), or raise and/or homeschool high-achieving kids.
